You know great thanks to my most amazin sister in law that i have decided to add these clips.. i am going to embark on a blog that will make me look back at the most incredible journeys i have gone through in the past few years with the special people, places and memories i have experienced.. hope you enjoy these clips..

I actually wonder to myself why i have never actually edited and made more of these for each mission i have been on but this new blog i am talking about doing will have loads of pics andmaybei will get the inspiration to create some more you just never know.. enjoy what i have and watch this space… more to come..

New Adventure

There came a point where i actuall never thought that i would finish in Afghanistan, but gladly that day has come and now i am finally out of that hell pit. It was an easy thought of what it would be like to be based in a normal enviroment, normal people and the ability to do normal things.

It is funny you know. I was told i would be going back to Dubai which i was all geared up for, but with all things and adventures in my life it is not always as it seems nor planned. The day before i left Afghaistan i was told i would have to head off back to Chad and assist with the moving of 2 of our helicopters, which is ok actually alot of fun.. however there was a slight delima.. I could not travel like a normal crew member on a general declaration instead i have to get all relevant visas for the places that i was heading off to. Chad, Central African Republic, South Sudan and finally Uganda. So now how do we do this? Best course of action is to head back to Harare and secure as many as i can and then move onto Nairobi and finally Ethiopia. I head off instead straight to Nairobi where i had planned to spend a week. That did not really work out as the French Embassy would not issue a visa since i was no a resident of Kenya.. Last minute decisions and the following morning i was on a flight to Harare.. Typically with all my friends it wa try and fit getting a visa in with the normal parties.. one can never do with out. Got everything sorted and was back on a plane off to Ethiopia to get my Chad visa.. Went like a dream. Just as i was about to head off to sleep the famous words i have seen on Skype so often reappeared.. Sean Hold a Sec Change of Plans… After a wild goose chase around Africa they now are deciding to change destinations.. Finally a decision was made – cancelled my 7am flight to Chad and instead took the 7:30am flight to Dubai.. and here we are back in normal civilisation.. Meaningless rambles but hey… for me the new adventure is just beginning.

War without end…..

If civilization is to survive, we must cultivate the science of human relationships – the ability of all peoples, of all kinds, to live together, in the same world at peace.

Some words seem to be easier said than done.. I have been in Afghanistan for a couple of months now and never seem to comprehend how life can be so cruel, where the people can be so hostile to others but more importantly to themselves.
In all the missions i have ever done with my company i face the hardest challenge yet. Something that tests your faith and ability to understand what is right and wrong, it may seem crazy to say it in that context but truth be told i am getting to a point in which i cannot understand why are we trying to help the helpless. A state which has no hope for peace despite all efforts from NATO, ISAF and any other giving agency that is willing to try and make a difference.

The work is more stressful than i had imagined and hearing that a aircraft has crashed is nothing new nor a shock. I see my guys off in the morning with a knowledge that they may never come back. The picture below is a more recent event in which i am so thankful that no one was harmed or lost their lives.

After the Taliban Attack

Nothing seems to b certain in this place. A place where evil takes over the rest of the people lay helpless not knowing what will happen next. I think in a very strange way this mission has taught me to grow up a lot and know it is survival of the fittest, take care of yourself out here… You dont know who you can rely on.. As i say to many people the show must go on. The sun will come up tomorrow and it will set, that is one thing we are certain about, everything esle cannot be foreseen.

I take my hat off to my guys for their bravery and willingness to go and help support people and know they are going into the unknown always.. it is just something they alone can face..all i can do is support and guide them.

The Sun will rise and the Sun will set.. That we know for sure..

The New Start

So this is yet again the start to another one of my “blogs”, from lack of interest since i can’t write to loosing passwords, i will now try and attempt yet again to start a new one and eventually it will catch up and be up to date on most things.

I have been in Afghanistan for nearly 4 months now and it would not exactly be something i would like to add to the Forbes top places to go, not by a long shot anyway. The days are long and the nights, well they always seem to end up in front of the computer with a plate of food to the right and a glass of whiskey to the left of me.. it is like a bad ground hog night mare at the best of times. Sometimes i would like to put it down to a stress reliever or just practicing for a mini trout rally who knows. So the epic journey shall begin and the good and bad stories to go with it. I thought the title of my new blog is very appropriate at least… Well till next time will catch you all later.
